The breakdown

Xavier Goodman is an artist and actor with ambitions that stretch well beyond music. When he told director Matt Genesis he wanted to lead action movies, Matt saw an opening: take one of Xavier’s songs and use it to explore a sci-fi world he’d already been developing. What started as a music video quickly became something closer to the opening chapter of a much bigger story.

The brief

What in the f*ck are we making?

An action adventure sci-fi thriller animated music video short film thing. That's what the f*ck.

Music video anime of a gun fight
Our hero vanishes from the scene as he takes a barrage of bullets from the evil gang
Does a sweet 360 turn, grabs a gun and begins firing as we change from live action to anime
It's kinda like if John Wick had a baby with Childish Gambino

“They have just enough ‘cowboy’ in them to get crazy with me, which is a definite plus as a director.”
